Elizabeth and Ian Gregory have opened three of their gardens, for The National Garden Scheme, over the years. The garden at Cloud Cottage is much smaller than their previous gardens. However, during the last four years, they have developed it into a beautiful and very well-planned space, with a terrace, a pond, mixed shrub and herb beds, a Japanese style garden, a fruit and vegetable cage and greenhouses. The garden illustrates what can be achieved in a relatively small and predominantly shady space.
‘Opening for the National Garden Scheme is extremely rewarding. It has given us a huge amount of pleasure and has also given a lot of pleasure to our many visitors. We are proud to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile cause’. Elizabeth Gregory, Cloud Cottage.
If you, like Elizabeth and Ian, are passionate about your garden and your friends and family tell you how lovely it is, then it’s very likely other people will want to visit your garden too.
By opening your garden with the NGS, you’ll join a community of like-minded garden owners and volunteers all passionate about gardens. You will share a memorable day with your visitors and help raise money for vital nursing and health charities. You decide when and how often you want to open and you will be ably supported by the NGS team prior to your opening.
Whether your garden is big or small, if you think it has quality, character and interest, we would love to hear from you. Find out more at https://ngs.org.uk/get-involved/open-your-garden/
