Sussex brewery launch new Horsham event to showcase and support young music talent.

On Saturday 26th February, at the picturesque St Mary’s Barn in the Causeway, Horsham, Brolly Brewing will be hosting the first ‘Pop-up @ the barn’ beer and music event for 2022, to help raise much needed funding for young local musicians, Thomas Holder + Eleanor Baker (Baby Eleanor) to record their latest original song, Lifeline.

At the event, Tom + Ellie will be performing tracks from their solo repertoire, as well as showcasing their collaborative work. The pair first combined their musical abilities in their mid-teens whilst studying music at school. Session musician, come singer songwriter, Tom, already has two solo single releases to his name; and Ellie, who completed her degree in vocals at the ACM in London, is working towards her debut full band EP launch, set for March. They continue to regularly make music together and have recently formed a writing collab alongside their own works.

Brolly Brewing are delighted to be able to help bring the Horsham community together to support young, local musicians in this way. Brook Saunders, Director of the award-winning Sussex brewery says, “Live music and musicians have suffered over the past 2 years during the Covid-19 pandemic. This year we want to be a force for good and to provide a platform to help support young musicians like Tom and Ellie, who have had their creativity stifled for so long”.

Musician, Thomas Holder, also says of the event, “I’m honoured to be collaborating with Brolly on this project; music and beer have gone hand in hand for centuries and I’m only too pleased to help continue this legacy. Thanks Brolly!”. He also added, “Any artist will testify, it takes time, dedication and money to see their craft move from an idea to the finished article, (in my case) a Studio Recording. We are excited to be able to accelerate this process with the profits generated from this event and hope to be able to bring our music to the audience sooner.”

The ‘Pop-Up @ the Barn’ event will run in two sessions. The first afternoon session will run from 12-4pm and the second evening session will run from 5-9pm. Tickets to either session cost £5 each for adults (over 18), £2.50 each for children (under 18), whilst under 2s go free. Tickets should be purchased in advance on the Brolly Brewing website to avoid disappointment. All profits raised from the event ticket sales will be donated to these up-and-coming artists to help fund their time in the recording studio.

As well as a wide selection of modern and traditional beers from Brolly Brewing, they will also be releasing a new Dark Mild beer at the event, named after Tom + Ellie’s original song, Lifeline. The bar will also be stocked with Local Gin from Cabin Pressure, Sparkling Wine from Bolney Wine Estate, as well as a selection of soft drinks. New foodies to the event scene, Ignis Barbecue, will be providing a selection of signature burgers, ribs and loaded fries from the Barn kitchen.

Brolly Brewing plan to hold more ‘pop-up @ the barn’ events throughout 2022. Keep up-to-date with their latest event news on their social media pages: Facebook + Instagram.
