Country garden designed by Nigel Philips in 2010. Oak lined drive leading to the house and farm opens out to an enclosed courtyard with pleached hornbeam and yew. The herbaceous borders are colourful throughout the yr. Vegetable garden with raised beds and greenhouse with white peach and vine. Wild meadow leading to orchard and views across the fields, full of sheep and poultry. Mature trees.
The garden is an open flat space of about two acres, with a large lawn and grass paths leading to wilder areas, ideal for disabled visitors in dry weather. Good selection of mature specimen trees and pretty vegetable garden, greenhouse, orchard, and small pond. Sheep in the fields, hens and geese and an aviary of finches and doves. No dogs as we have free range poultry who roam the borders eating pests.
Proceeds to The National Garden Scheme and Crawley Open House. Perennial plants for sale. Home made teas. Picnics welcome. Garden open 2nd June & 10th July and by arrangement – https://findagarden.ngs.org.uk/garden/34939/oaklands-farm.Tel 01403 741270
