Local housebuilder Barratt David Wilson North Thames has kickstarted celebrations in Leighton Buzzard for the King’s Coronation, having sponsored the Leighton-Linslade Kings Coronation Celebrations on Saturday 6th May 2023. The housebuilder, who is building its Clipstone Park development nearby on Briggington Way, donated £600 to Leighton-Linslade Town Council in sponsorship of the live band stand elements of the event.
Hosted at Parson’s Close Recreation Ground, the local community gathered to start a weekend of celebration for the King’s Coronation. Visitors were treated to live entertainment and music at the town’s bandstand, keeping them thoroughly entertained throughout the afternoon and into the evening. The £600 donation from Barratt David Wilson North Thames contributed towards the costs of hosting live music throughout the afternoon, which featured performances from The Heath Band and Leighton-Linslade Concert Band.
Ben Bodsworth, Town & Community Promotions Manager commented: “Despite the weather, it was great to host celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles III. Throughout the day, hardy crowds gathered to enjoy the live music and entertainment on offer. Our events programme is a testament to the community spirit here in Leighton Buzzard, and this one will go down in the history books. We are incredibly grateful to Barratt David Wilson North Thames for its kind sponsorship, which helped support our efforts and costs in bringing the best live entertainment to the event.”
Marc Woolfe, Head of Sales for Barratt David Wilson North Thames, said: “It was so wonderful to see the community come together at the long-awaited Leighton-Linslade Coronation Festival for the King’s Coronation. It is so important that our local areas can enjoy milestone moments such as this as much as possible, and that we are able to make sure the facilities are there to make it memorable. We are proud to have worked with Leighton-Linslade Council to offer our support for the event – we hope that everyone who came to the celebrations enjoyed the music!”
