Local housebuilder David Wilson Kent has kickstarted celebrations in Sittingbourne for the King’s Coronation, having sponsored the afternoon tea at ALP Sittingbourne School on Friday 5th May 2023. The housebuilder, who is building its Applegate Park development nearby in Borden, donated £300 to the school for the celebrations.

Hosted at the ALP Sittingbourne School on Bell Road, the local community gathered to begin a weekend of celebrations for the King’s Coronation. The £300 donation from David Wilson Kent contributed towards the costs of the food and drink for the event, allowing teachers, students and representatives from across Sittingbourne to enjoy an afternoon of cakes, sandwiches and party food. There was also a raffle and party games for all to enjoy, as well as music keeping those who attended thoroughly entertained throughout the afternoon.

Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director for David Wilson Kent, commented: “It was so wonderful to see the community come together at ALP Sittingbourne for their afternoon tea for the long-awaited King’s Coronation celebrations. It is so important that our local communities can enjoy milestone moments such as this as much as possible. We are proud to have worked with ALP Sittingbourne to offer our support for the event – we hope that everyone who came to the afternoon tea enjoyed the food!”

Jenny Thomason, Headteacher at ALP Sittingbourne added: “It has been great to host our first ever afternoon tea to celebrate the King’s Coronation. The event was a testament to the community spirit here at ALP Sittingbourne, and this one will go down in the history books. We are incredibly grateful to David Wilson Kent for its kind sponsorship and for them to take the time to come down to the event and learn about our school.”

David Wilson Kent is currently building a range of new four-bedroom homes at its Applegate Park development in Borden, Sittingbourne, with prices starting from £604,997.
