The Olive Tree Cancer Support Centre, Crawley is excited and delighted to announce that, from 1st of June, they will be working together with Total Therapy Studios, Horsham to provide complementary therapies, emotional support and exercise classes. Marilyn Drury, the Olive Tree Centre Manager said “I am delighted that we will now be in a position to offer a range of support services locally to those affected by cancer in the Horsham area thanks to partnering with Total Therapy Studios.”
Complementary therapies are used alongside conventional treatments and are not an alternative; they can help people to relax, reduce stress levels, alleviate the side effects of cancer treatments and enhance feelings of well-being. Initially the complementary therapies available will include Reflexology, Massage and Acupuncture.
Gentle yoga and Relaxation and Meditation classes will also be on offer from mid June, other activities will be added to the programme in the near future.
Receiving a diagnosis of cancer is a difficult, stressful and emotional time for both the patient and those around them. Members of the Olive Tree’s excellent counselling team will be offering support starting in July.
These activities will take place at Total Therapies’ lovely studios in the Carfax, right in the centre of Horsham on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Anyone wishing to access this service will need to contact Horsham@olivetreecancersuport.org.uk or 01403 627424 to register with the Olive Tree.
The Olive Tree Horsham Information & Support Hub will continue to organise workshops for patients both at Horsham Hospital and at Total Therapies.
